For the past 10 years, I've refined my technique and musicianship while taking it upon myself to learn and study the greatest songwriters so that one day I may be as good as them. The result of my labors is a string of successful performances, a small but solid fanbase, and a yearning to write as socially relevant material as i can; to write the most eclectic music as well. being a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, piano, synth, mandolin, banjo) i have had various influences that affected my writing, as well as my composing. i love all different genres of music and hope to create music that will cross those genres, both in music and in the people that listen to it. my hope is for someone who loves metal, listen to one of my metal songs and then listen to one of the folk songs and vise-versa, so people will learn the beauty of different genres and in different sounds.
Performing, composing, arranging, recording, producing, writing and loving.
But I am not just a musician...
I am also a writer, of plays, screenplays, short stories and poetry, all of which you can find at writerscafe.org/timmyjames
I can say humbly and without ego that I'm not your average musician. I started teaching myself the art of performing and composing after having learned a few basic chords from my mother, a singer-songwriter herself. From there I was introduced to a plethora of musical styles and geniuses from my Mother and Father, who never stopped supporting me and my efforts to become the musician i am today.
I was born with a passion, a passion to do something great, and a passion to become an influential individual. I one day hope to be able to give back to the global community with my music, and give voice to many who suffer from mental health issues and chronic pain issues.
I'm proud to have friends whom have helped me learn and grow as musician.
Kathleen Kelly has been a great influence on my pursuit to become a better vocalist and harmonist. Dwayne Ulliac challenged me become a better rhythm guitarist with his training from Grant Macewan University and my participation in Lacewing, a Math-Metal Band. it constantly challenged my understanding of music, timing, and theory.
The support i recieved from teachers, friends, and parents, gave me the confidence to dream - to dream of one day being one of the most influential and eclectic musicians of our modern age.
